At EMDAD, we believe that effective support begins with informed action. Our research initiatives are rooted in a deep commitment to understanding the complex challenges faced by newcomers in the Sacramento area, including legal barriers, cultural integration, economic disparities, and access to education. Led by a dedicated team of former foreign lawyers and university professors, and U.S. university graduates, our research is grounded in lived experience and academic expertise. We conduct community-based research that directly informs our programs, enhances public awareness, and strengthens our advocacy efforts. Through community involvement, data collection, field assessments, and policy analysis, we strive to shed light on the real-life experiences of immigrant and refugee communities. Our goal is to generate evidence-based solutions that address critical needs and promote equity. EMDAD is committed to producing research that not only reflects th realities of the communities we serve but also drives impactful change at the local level.
