At EMDAD, we are actively planning and working to secure a range of impactful projects that align with our mission to empower underserved communities, support newcomers, and promote long-term integration and self-sufficiency. Each project is designed with a clear focus on addressing real community needs through sustainable, practical solutions.

Current Project: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program 

EMDAD is proud to lead the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program as one of our key ongoing projects. Designed to promote financial stability and economic empowerment, VITA provides free, IRS-certified tax preparation services to low-income individuals and families, with a special focus on supporting newcomers and immigrant households unfamiliar with U.S. tax systems. Launched in collaboration with the IRS, this project ensures eligible community members receive the tax credits and refunds they deserve, while helping them comply with federal and state tax regulations. During the 2025 tax season, EMDAD served over 200 individuals and households, a milestone that reflects both the need for this service and our organization’s trusted role in the community.
